The State of Games, Ep. 180: The One About Looking Back at 2021

stateofgameslogonewIt’s been awhile, Dear Listeners, but we’re back with our annual retrospective on the best and brightest in boardgaming from the past year. Sure, we haven’t played a lot. But we’ve also made up for it by not podcasting very much, either. We’d like to change that in 2022. We’ve missed you! So kick back and enjoy a long and winding ramble about gaming, prime rib, Santa’s Workshop, and more. We even brought along a guest so you’d feel extra special.

Glad to hear you guys again. It has been another weird year. I can’t believe most of y’all haven’t watched Christmas Story in its entirety. That’s such a classic in our house. My wife got a new Cricut for Xmas along with a heat press, and she’s enjoyed creating custom shirts. I imagine you could put that work to create all sorts of neat things for board gaming. If I had to pick one game that pleasantly surprised me last year, it would be Nidavellir. It’s a great bidding great that already has an expansion available. Check it out.
